***This is a guy’s night out, bring significant others at your own peril***
We’re honoring the pride of Manchester…the city’s most celebrated metrosexual since Beckham signed with ManU. There are some rules for the evening.
You must do one of the following:
- Wear a Liverpool top or scarf.
- Wear an England top or scarf.
- Wear size 8 shoes.
- Wear your best Metrosexual outfit that includes either female designer jeans or a PINK shirt. (nobody models women’s attire quite like Meach!!!)
OR:
- If you choose not to adhere to the dress code, you will be forced to drink Smirnoff Ice all night. If you are caught drinking something other that Smirnoff Ice you will buy the entire group a round of drinks…ouch.
Response should be at EVITE

SEEING RED
Also in Division Two, Central Park Rangers Red succumbed 2-0 to Kandia at Calandria Field in the Bronx. Kemar Henry (55th) and Jefferson Hinds (85th) secured the points for the Jamaicans.
“Yes, we put on an all-round strong performance from start to finish (and) thoroughly deserved to win,” said Kandia coach Colin Hemmings.
CPR’s reserves prevailed 4-3 on connects by Brendan Lim (two), Nikle Guzijan and Bola Adeeko.
Training
This weeks training is at Chelsea Waterside Park 10pm – midnight (I won’t be able to make it as I’m off to the in-laws in Ohio). Next weeks training is Monday at Pier 40 8:30pm when we’ll be having a reserves v reds match-up.
Match Update
Next league match is due for April 22nd v NIFA. This gives a few weeks to get our sh*t together and get this season off the ground. I’m trying for a practice match on the 15th – stay tuned.
Injury Update
Remarkably, the squad injured list is very short. Becker seems to have sustained a serious ACL injury and may be out for a while. Big T is still nursing his knee and will benefit from a few weeks off.
Player update
Next week sees the return of Gonzo (aka Mark) and Christian will have his chance to start his 1st game. TJ is back in town and I’m playing phone-tag with him. Rich is back from his state visit to Mongolia, looking to reclaim his golden boot title from Brendan. Marko has sold-out of toothbrushes and will be making his return to the US via an illegal Canadian border crossing.
A dissapionting loss, on a pitch that was crap, with the last 15 minutes being played in virtual darkness (I’ve already lodged a formal protest to the result with the league)
The pitch didn’t play into our strengths and we battled to find possession, time on the ball and chances. Neither team dominated the game as Kandia simply played the ball early to the front 2 forwards in the hope of winning the knock-down or catching the back-line square. This strategy obviously works very well on a pitch like this and also works when you have players with undoubted speed and pace on the ball. The chances we did have weren’t put away and we battled to get to grips with difficult conditions and find the conviction and belief to win a testing battle.
The last 15 minutes summed up the game for me as we fought to make chances, kept them on the back foot and conceded a goal on the break. Kandia obviously have experience playing in the dark as they adapted better to conditions in the final 10 minutes of play and we seemed to lose heart.
Strong performances from Le Matt at centerback, Toks at leftback and midfield weren’t enough to overpower a confident Kandia. We played the game with the confidence of a team struggling to score and lacked the leadership on the pitch to adapt to the scoreline and pitch conditions.
Opponents: Kandia, April 1st 5:30pm
Score: Lost 2 -0
MOTM: Le Matt & Toks
Team: Big T, Meachy, Steve Morse, Creighton, UK Matt, Ryan, Mike S, Ilije, Scott, Adi, Ben, Toks, Hakan
