A strange kick-off time (8:30pm on a sunday night) wasn’t enough to stop a the Red Reserves overcome a mis-matched Celtic opposition.
We played in a familar 4-4-2 and quickly took the game to Celtic and gave them little room in the midfield and played some decent football throughout the game. Christian, UK Matt and Ilije were providing some much needed drive up front and Christian scored his debut goal after a tight turn and brilliant shot following a Sewards throw. The defensive back 4 played solidly throughout and Steve Roberts and Gonzo were teamed up effectively again a pacey Celtic front line. All round performances by the whole team and the 2nd was scored after Illije finished clinically following a 40 yard pass from Sewards.
Other highlights including UK Matt missing a sitter, Nikle going close and Christian coming close and making a great debut. The match ended with a consolation Celtic goal and a little argy bargy, handbags after the Cetics No 4’s head collided with a random rangers leg. A great win and fine performances all over the pitch, the reserves league is still open for us to win and we’ll have to keep winning to stand any chance.
