Ridgewood Romac Reserves 1 – 3 CPR Red Reserves

This game will be remembered for it’s contribution to our seasons stats as a solid defensive game, especially in the 2nd half, saw off a poor Ridgewood team that lacked any organization or talent. Bola could have had 10, Ernesto chimed in with a sweet header and new boy Phil broke his cherry in front of his girlfriend (a double cherry day perhaps?). Ridgewood Reserves were a strange team. Their back-line had an average weight of 275 pounds yet they had a few fast and clever players up front. Charlie and Jan dominated the center respectively, Ferd almost scored with a 85 yard pile-driver and new kid Alex was sending in a few decent crosses from the right.

Goal attempts – 64, Shots on target – 5, Possession – 75%,

MOTM: Jan
Hon M: Ferd, Charlie

Ridgewood Romac 1- 3 CPR Reds

The best thing about Romanians (or any eastern europeans for that matter) is how predicable they are, and new boys Ridgewood Romac SC are no different. Good technique, fast feet, late takkles, lippy foreign bullshit, bad hair, pathetic in the final 3rd and crap goalkeepers. We started slow as Romac showed the better pace and touch but settled well after a perfect 35 yard goal from John Keogh.

The 2nd half was full of incident as Keogh and Rob were both sent-off, Ben left injured and Nikle landed a sweet free-kick after playing most of the gameĀ  drunk. A consolation goal for Romac wrapped up the 1st 6 point day of the season and another good turnout back at Central HQ.

MOTM: Keogh, Rob
Hon M: Ben
Goals – Nikle, Keogh,og
